Policy of N.S International School

  • Even students from non-Kanji countries aim to be able to read 2136 regular Kanji characters.
  • Students learn Japanese from the basics and aim to obtain N2 to N1 in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) by the time they graduate.

Features of N.S International School

  • We provide opportunities for students to acquire knowledge of the Japanese language as well as Japanese culture and social skills, not only through the study of the Japanese language, but also through off-campus learning experiences such as cross-cultural exchange, visits to local industries, and agricultural experiences.

  • When circumstances prevent classroom lessons, you can study part of the curriculum online at home.

About Classes

  • The classes will be taught using the direct method. (Basically, foreign language assistance is not provided in the classes.)
  • The school is a multinational environment where students can deepen their understanding of different cultures. Students are asked to refrain from using their native language in class.
  • In accordance with the policy of the Immigration Service Agency of Japan and as a requirement for graduation from our school, students are required to take an external examination (JLPT, etc.) in order to assess their Japanese language ability according to the CEFR standard. (Please note that you will be required to pay the actual test fee.)
  • Japanese language lecturers who teach Japanese are qualified to teach Japanese as defined by the Immigration Service Agency of  the Ministry of Justice of Japan.
  • We recommend that you bring your own devices as computers, smart phones, tablet devices, etc. are used in some of the lessons. However, please refrain from using them for personal use during class.
